The House of Escaillac

La Maison d'EscaillacIn 1797, year of its construction, it was a period of “payments of accounts” related to the French revolution of 1789.

The Farmhouse of Escaillac contains various buildings of which the house 1 which was the first livable one. Built out of stones of the country, without mortar nor cement, its walls of stone dries are 90 cm thickness. The small windows of origin, make sure that a nice temperature is guaranteed.

A minimum of transformations enabled us to preserve the character and the charm of it, while sacrificing despite everything, with modern comfort, some essential installations.

In winter, the cattle “slept” in the cellar and the heat of the cows (radiators of 800Kg!), went up through the disjoined floors, in the dwelling. A very ecological heating from the ground!

The summer, the large walls and the small windows, made it possible to keep the house cool when the temperature went up (until 39° in the shade).

The private entry of the house is done by a wrought iron gate, while many parking spaces are available to a few meters, in the shade.

The Barn

La GrangeMaking it possible to accomodate 8 people (4 adults and 4 children), the barn which goes back to 1810, was renovated with modern comfort, by respecting the rustic style.

The rooms are situated between the visible beams of the splendid frame.

Composed of: hall, living room, rustic kitchen, a master bedroom with shower and wash-hand basin, one 2nd double room on 1st floor and that of the children, 1 shower-room and 2 WC including one with washing machine.

The salted water of the swimming pool, reflects the sky with inimitable blue, on bottom of the beige of the stones of the countries and the greenery surrounding.

The entry of the Barn, is done by the wood gate. The carpark makes it possible to put 3 cars at the shade.

A central heating is availablr for the colder winter nights.

The Sheep-fold

La Bergerie"Also the children like the small" doll's house who adopt it immediately.

They can escape, without obstructing parents nor neighbors, while remaining under monitoring...

The corner kitchen provides hot and cold water to cook and... to wash itself, because we did not find the place to install a shower.

The WC is separated from the large living room by a partition.
